After more than 10 weeks deliberation, the exigent jury of the Great Taste Awards rewarded Amélie for its oyster “Spéciale de Claire” with the three premium a product can earn.
- 3 stars
- Top 50 products of the year
- Golden Fork (for best imported product)
Since they were created in 1994, these premium have become the highest honorific distinction in the UK to help consumers and critics identify the best products in the market.
Great Taste is considered as a benchmark and undisputable proof of quality that retailers and restaurants can trust when selecting their providers.

Every year, more than 10,000 food and beverage products apply to this competition in the hope of earning one, two or three stars granted by the independent jury. The jury is composed of 400 members including food distributors, journalists, chefs, restaurateurs and food specialists, all of them with renowned experience in spotting top quality products. Products are all tasted blindly, without any brand or tag, to focus only on quality and taste without any marketing influence.
Less than one third of the candidates are awarded with a star, and Huitres Amélie earned three stars which is the maximum a product can earn. All 3 stars winners are asked to attend a second round with the aim to select the 50 best products of the year. Of this second qualification, a third round tasting is organised to elect the 16 best products, all awarded with the Golden Fork distinction.
